Blowout Student Gig

Next Blowout Student Gig at Inventions Arts Centre in Bath is scheduled for Sat 15th May.  I’m hoping to take over some of my students to perform.

mini sax massive

One of my students is hosting the mini sax massive at function rooms where he lives.  It’s great that something has come out of the Sax Massive event and that more people are getting involved.  It seems to be going very well and they may be doing some gigs for charity very soon!  Do contact me if you want to get involved with this group and I’ll put you in touch with the organiser.

Sax Massive tbc

Just read that Craig Crofton is hoping to keep the Sax Massive group together.  The gig at Colston Hall was amazing and some great footage on You Tube  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXHF6t8J9S0

It was a great experience to be part of such a big group and I’m looking forward to meeting up again for more of the same!

More sax massive

A great run-thro of the sax massive piece this evening.  I’m looking forward to the gig tomorrow.

Colston Hall Sax Massive

I’ve recently signed up for the Saxophone Massive event which is part of the Colston Hall Opening Celebrations and encouraging all my students to take part too.

6 months on

I made a decision to put playing in a band on hold for a while so I can focus on teaching.  I’ve been doing that for just over 6 months now and though it’s hard to juggle my other work and commitments - I’m still enjoying it.

I took some of my students over to Bath last month to perform in the Blowout Sax student concert and they all did brilliantly.

New tunes

Had a great rehearsal with the full band and we tried out a handful of new tunes.  Good luck to Phil and his hip op! And looking forward to the next rehearsal in about 6 weeks time once he’s on the mend.

Farmhouse gig

Had a great gig at the Farmhouse. It really is a pleasure to play there. Great new management and lovely lovely appreciative audience. Even some dancing!

Back at the Prom

Had a fun gig at the Prom with a nice supportive crowd (our mates basically) including my sis over from New Zealand.  I told her it’s a long way to come for a gig but she insisted.

It was great to be playing back at the Prom; reminded me of the days of the jazz jam there.

Venue

A pic of High Jingo appeared in last week’s Venue along with a review of the Farmhouse; it’s a great photo by Mark Simmons.
